Kirinyaga County has in part of its preparations for the sixth annual Devolution Conference set out over 150,000 condoms, which were
distributed to bars, restaurants and areas where the delegates will be accommodated.
Kirinyaga County Deputy Public Health Officer Peter Irungu told people not to hold themselves back in using the government property.
“People should not shy away because distribution of condoms has been going on even when there is no devolution conference,” he said.
Over 6,000 delegates are expected in Kirinyaga County for the conference with some being forced to look for accommodation from neighboring counties including Murang’a, Embu, Meru, Nyeri and Kiambu.
The conference is set to take place from Monday March 4 through Friday, March 8.
