Kenyans have been disheartened by the sad state of a school in Elgeyo Marakwet; Lamaon primary.

This comes after a twitter user shared a photo of a mud building is seemingly in an almost collapsing situation.

The twitter user laments that the school was among those that were promised laptops during 2013 elections.

There is also fear that the pupils may contract diseases due to the erratic learning environment. (PHOTO: COURTESY)

He also reveals that Amina Mohammed who was then the Education CS before the Cabinet reshuffle spearheaded change of curriculum to be initiated in the school.

The school apparently hails from the same county where billions were looted for dam construction.

Some of the leaders whose attention was caught by this tweet is Martha Karua who expressed her concern after another tweep commented that
the government should work hard to reduce this extreme and unholy inequality.

Martha Karua implies that the whole nation should stand united to save such situations because the reality is that we either prosper together as a country or perish.

This is only one of the cases that has been highlighted but there is probably more than just this one school.

The levels of inequality are disheartening and the conditions of some schools do not provide the suitable environment for children to have access to quality education.

What do you think should be done to do away with such inequality?

Terribly unbelievable that we have got such dilapidated structures in the name of schools over 50 yrs after independence!— Pastor Gaitho.C.K. (@gaitho_c) March 3, 2019

@kipmurkomen can we join hands and reconstruct this school using PEB technology , give the young Kenyans education in a proper environment. Politics aside this is dehumanizing to say the least. Let’s build this school.— Irregardless (@Kenyanimimi) March 3, 2019
