After being arrested on Sunday and spending a night at Athi River police station, Maisy Pauline Chesang wife to fallen lawyer Robert Chesang who is also Nyeri senior resident Magistrate was on Monday arraigned in court over her husband who was gunned down in Lukenya, Machakos County last month.
Mrs Chesang alongside three others among them two police officers appeared before Mavoko principal magistrate Elvis Mitheka. According to the Charge sheet, the slain city lawyer Chesang was gunned down by unknown assailants when he was alone at home and surprisingly the assailants didn’t sneak with anything at home.
Pauline Chesang’s wife will remain in custody for nine more days as investigations on her involvement in the murder continues. Through her lawyer Assa Nyakundi, she had sought to be released on bond so as to take care of their children aged eight and five years respectively since she was the only guardian a request that the principal Magistrate Elvis Mitheka denied saying the matter is sensitive and the accused might interfere with investigation which are at an advance stage.
