Kepa Arizzabalaga’s action of refusing to be substituted in the Carabao Cup final raised eyebrows .

However the goalkeeper last week issued a public apology to the entire club.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has now confirmed that the Chelsea players accepted Kepa Arizzabalaga’s apology .

The goalkeeper issued a public apology to the entire club last week and later fined for defying manager Maurizio Sarri’s substitution calls against Manchester City.

The Spaniard was later dropped against Tottenham in midweek but got his place back for Sunday’s 2-1 away at Fulham.

“The boss obviously wanted to show he demands respect from his players and he obviously put in Willy [Caballero] for the Tottenham game,” Loftus-Cheek told Sky Sports News.

“Kepa was honest with us and he apologized to all of us the day after the final and we all accepted that apology.

“I think there was a misunderstanding involved in it but he apologized to us and we accepted it. I think it’s very important to move on quickly from that.”

Sunday’s win kept Chelsea’s top four challenge alive as they now trail fifth-placed Arsenal by just a point with a game in hand.
