“How to check CRB status” tops most searched in Google in Kenya

In light of Amina Mohammed’s attempt to arrest HELB defaulters that was met with ridicule among Kenyans, it seems that the rising economic status is affecting Kenyans especially those from middle to low class families specifically the Youth as the risk of being blacklisted by the Credit Reference Bureau poses a big threat.

For most of these, they are increasingly relying on instant, unsecured mobile loans to get by tough financial times.

This comes with no surprise, as most youth are unemplyed and trying to make ends meet at any cost, meanwhile when it comes to the repayment they find it hard as they cannot sustain themselves, ad therefore are threatened by collectors.

In Febuary, the most searched trend under the ‘How to’ category in Kenya were ‘How to check Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) status’, ‘How to lose weight’ and ‘How to pay Tala loan’.

Kenyans also wanted to know how to pay the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) via M-Pesa and how to get an M-Pesa statement.
