Charged mistress & partner over Wambui’s murder release on bond opposed

Two artists who allegedly orchestrated the send off of a vulnerable lively woman to her early grave following a love crime are on the road to paying for the wages of murderous sinful nature the justice way.

Two suspects who have been in police custody for the last one and a half months over the murder of a Kiambu businesswoman were on Monday formally charged.

Judy Wangui Mungai and Michel Githae Mathenge were arraigned at Kiambu High Court where they were charged with killing Mary Wambui Kamangara in January this year.

The duo was charged that on January 26 and 27 jointly with others not before the court at Four ways Junction estate along Kiambu-Nairobi road, they murdered Ms Kamangara.

They appeared before Kiambu High Court Judge Christine Meoli where they denied the charges.

Prosecution counsel Christine Ndombi opposed the duo to be released on bond.

The court set March 18 as the next mention of the case when the pre-bail report will be availed.

Ms Wambui was accorded a high-profile funeral, her last ride being in a Mercedes hearse.

Mourners gathered in thousands for the burial of Ms Wambui, many describing her as an outgoing and jovial person.
