Why KUDHEIHA is threatening to down tool

Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational institutions and Hospital workers  KUDHEIHA has issued a 30 day strike notice to the public universities  management in the country over the unfulfilled 2017-2021 Collective bargaining Agreement.

Kudheiha secretary general Albert Njeru said there has been undue  delay in negotiating the CBA between KUDHEIHA  and the Inter-Public Universities Council Consultative Forum IPUCCF.

Njeru in a press statement said this was creating a recipe for industrial disharmony in the universities.

KUDHEIHA has at the same time given the  nomination of professor George Magoha to the education ministry a nod, saying it has confidence in his ability to propel the ministry forward.

The union said it was confident that the new education CS will address issues that are hampering smooth running of public universities in the country.

He called on the new CS to increase capitation to all Public universities to enable them run efficiently and at the same time address the ongoing wrangles in some university managements to avoid disruption of learning programmes.
