Should a by-election now be called in Malindi after Aisha Jumwa’s expulsion?
Political pundits have argued that a by-election could now be in the offing in Malindi after ODM’s National Executive Council decided to rubber-stamp the Party’s disciplinary committee’s decision to expel Aisha Jumwa.
The said by-election would however not come easy with Aisha Jumwa now vowing to fight till the end to keep her position as Member of Parliament.
The Vocal MP has said that nothing will stop her from finishing her 5-year term as Member of Parliament.
She has said that if ODM followed the due process before expelling her, she would have relinquished the Parliamentary Seat herself.
“Kama sheria na taratibu zingefuatwa, mimi Aisha Jumwa labda ningekua nimesema nimesalimu amri” she said.
The legislator who was speaking in Malindi, received a grand reception from her supporters who matched from the Malindi International airport to Mbuzi Wengi for a rally. She urged residents not to panic but to continue with their daily business without fear.
Jumwa was expelled from ODM Party while her Msambweni Counterpart Suleiman Dori survived the Chop.
