What it means for Sergio Aguero to be in the list of the player of the month

Manchester City are currently enjoying their dominance in England having already bagged the Carabao and piling pressure on Liverpool in the Premier League and there is more to come from them with Aguero breathing fire to the opponents.

Manchester City enjoyed a dominant February on all fronts and Sergio Aguero has earned a spot on the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

The Blues won have all seven of their matches in all competitions during the shortened month of February.

Despite the fixture congestion, City still managed to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, take a first-leg lead in the Champions League last 16 and win the Carabao Cup.

But as is important was the four Premier League games they won to keep within one point of leaders Liverpool in the title race.It all started with a 3-1 home win over Arsenal followed by a 2-0 victory at Everton. Then came the outstanding 6-0 hammering of Chelsea.

City took a 16-day break from the Premier League before edging out West Ham United at home on Wednesday.The main man during the month was Aguero, who bagged the penalty goal in the aforementioned win over West Ham.

Aguero bagged seven goals in four league matches during the month including hat-tricks against Arsenal and Chelsea.

The other players on the shortlist are United’s Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw, Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk, Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and Burnley’s Ashley Barnes. Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff is also included.

Manchester United’s Coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be in the list of the coach of the month which he took in the last month having brought back faith and hope to the United bench and fans.
