Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has appealed to the police to investigate a vigilante group in Nairobi Eastlands area who are linked to murders under the patronage of an undercover police officer known as Hessy wa Dandora.
Haji said this while at Kayole Social Hall on Thursday during a community dialogue meeting,the DPP stated that he would draft a letter to Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet for him to take action against the group.
According to the DPP and the locals, the group is claimed to be involved in the killings of supposed criminals in Dandora, Kayole and other areas in Eastlands area.
The mysterious social media user, claiming to be a plain-clothe police officer and going by the names Hessy wa Kayole, Hessy wa Dandora and Hessy wa Huruma, has been accused of warning suspects, who often end up gunned down in cold blood. However, on social media, Hessy Wa Dandora and the group has confirmed his group is ready to be investigated by anybody and they are not worried of anything.
