Prof George Magoha presided over the release of his last national examination as Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) chairman.

As his term was coming to an end in three months, the no-nonsense surgeon was perhaps already nostalgic of a position that he might vacate after three years of push and pull between his team and examination cartels that had taken over almost all operations at Mitihani House.

But the President had other plans.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has tasked the no-nonsense Chairman to head and revamp the under construction education curriculum.

Match Made in Heaven

The name Magoha has been synonymous with Matiangí- A match made in heaven.

Ever since Matiagí took over the Education docket a few years ago, he worked closely with the KNEC chairman to ensure sanity returned to our education system after years of carelessness and corruption had marred the high school certificate.

With the President’s directive, Kenyans are sure hoping to see a change of pace in curriculum development that has been under review for a few months now by former CS Amina Mohamed who is set to head the Sports docket.
