Why Fulham’s Claudio Ranieri May Be Fired Before Chelsea

Southampton picked up a huge three points on Wednesday night against relegation rivals Fulham.

The Saints had the points wrapped up before the break following goals from Oriol Romeu and James Ward Prowse.

Southampton escaped the bottom three with the victory at St Mary’s.

Brighton are above the Saints on goal difference, while Cardiff are now back in the drop zone.

As for Fulham, they seem cut adrift with Huddersfield at the foot of the table.

Fulham only have 17 points, while they are ten points from safety.

Fulham may sack Claudio Ranieri before Chelsea
According to the likes of the Evening Standard and Daily Mail, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Fulham will sack Claudio Ranieri.

Chelsea visit Craven Cottage this weekend in the west London derby.

It’s unclear whether Ranieri will still be in charge of Fulham by the time Saturday rolls around.

After the Southampton game, the Italian offered a bleak outlook regarding his Fulham future:

My job? I don’t know. Ask the owner.

The Daily Mail are now reporting that “Fulham manager will hold talks with Craven Cottage chiefs on Thursday”.

Fulham’s interim manager: Scott Parker
If Ranieri is given the chop, the Mail claim that Scott Parker could get the Fulham position until the end of the season.

Parker, 38, has never been a manager before.

If the appointment happens, Parker will be Fulham’s third manager this Premier League season after they started the campaign with Slaviša Jokanović.
