Tottenham Hotspur looked as if they were all but guaranteed at least a top three finish in the Premier League this time last week, but that has now been thrown into doubt.

Back to back defeats against Burnley and Chelsea have seen Spurs plummet from potentially moving two behind Liverpool to now sitting a huge nine points behind.

Not only this, but as Spurs have been dropping points, the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man United have been picking them up aplenty.

Arsenal now sit just four points behind the Lilywhites in fourth, with Chelsea and United not far behind.

Tottenham come up against Arsenal this weekend, and a win would go a long way to securing that third place. However, a loss would drag them right back into a fight for top four.

Despite this, Pochettino has claimed that most Spurs fans would have taken the position they are in now if it was offered at the start of the season.

He said : “Everyone from the beginning of the season would have signed up to be in that position before playing on Saturday. Everyone would have signed for that eight or 10 months ago in June or July, to be, today, with the possibility of playing against Arsenal at Wembley with the gap at four points. The pressure is on them, not only us. Them too, surely.”
