Claudio Ranieri fearing for the sack after leaving Fulham 10 points away from safety

Claudio Ranieri is fearing the sack after Fulham’s 2-0 defeat to Southampton pushes his side closer to relegation.

The result leaves the Cottagers 10 points away from safety and Saints in 17th place.

Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse struck in the first half, condemning Fulham to a seventh defeat in eight games.

”My job? I don’t know. Ask the owner,” Ranieri said when asked about his future.

With 10 games remaining, Ranieri remains defiant, despite a great escape seeming improbable at this point.

“I am just working hard until it is mathematically impossible, we continue to fight. We must believe and we must stay together.

“The players they are trying to do their best but that is not enough. We have to do something more.

“All my players are very, very frustrated because they push a lot, they run, then they concede a goal.”
