How ‘fake President’ Waswa shocked villagers

Joseph Waswa, the 33 year old who mimicked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s voice fake millionaire.

Waswa who is said to have been eyeing for the Bungoma Senate seat in 2022, runs charity initiatives, owns a fleet of four choppers and enjoys the high life.

He is also said to have donated millions of shillings to construct schools across Bungoma county something residents think is a way to lure them for 2022 preparation.

In December 2017 Waswa shocked Villagers in Kitui County when he landed with four helicopters to pay dowry for his wife Maureen Tabitha whom they exchanged rings estimated to have costed around Sh1.6 million.

In attendance were MPs Charles Nguna (Mwingi West), Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Caleb Amisi (Saboti) and Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills).

In 2016 Waswa did the unthikable after he offered a chopper ride to
Saleh Wanjala, hung onto the chopper from the Posta Grounds to the Bungoma Airstrip.

Waswa and co-accused Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula were humbled when they were cornered and arraigned in court.

They had colluded with government officials and had lured Merali with a promise of giving him lucrative and restricted tenders mainly involving supply of goods.

Waswa acted the part of mimicking president Kenyatta’s voice and robbed him Ksh 80 million.
