A university student was, on Monday, charged after he was caught wearing an Administration Police (AP) uniform.

Communication from the National Police Service cited that this type of clothing, when worn by ordinary citizens, creates confusion among members of the public.
The student, Anthony Wanjohi Gichuru, who is a third-year student at Karatina University, reportedly broke into an AP officer Anthony Njeru’s house, stole the uniform and wore it.
Appearing before resident magistrate Sandar Kosgei, the student was charged with three counts; stealing the uniform, wearing it unlawfully and stealing other goods.
The incident took place at Karatina Town on February 24, 2019.
The case is set for hearing on March 6.
