Terror alert! Explosives found at Thika road

Following the Dussit attack, Latema road explosion and the US embassy terror alert Kenyans have been in high tension. The security channels are so alert to eliminate any suspicious possible cause of terror. Police have arrested five people along Thika Road who were ferrying a self-propelling grenade on motorcycles.

The five were part of a nine man gang that was riding on three motorbikes to unknown destination. Their mission is also undisclosed. Police have seized the high-tech weapon that is normally used by the military.

This come after police apprehended a student of Nyeri National Polytechnic on suspicion that he may have been planning to bomb himself on 15th February. Police revealed that the student, Bruce Ndegwa, had some electronic gadgets strapped around his stomach, waist and chest.

He was found near Dedan Kimathi University entrance around 1:30 pm. Officers on patrol arrested the young man and took him to Kabiruini police post. He was handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit for interrogation.
