Mustafi Has challenged his Arsenal Teammates to Qualify for the Champions League

In an interview with Arsenal Media, Shkodran Mustafi explains his thoughts on Arsenal’s season so far and their hopes of getting a top-four spot. This season has definitely been an improvement on the last one, especially in terms of points earned in the Premier League, but the team prefers to focus on the games rather than the table.

“For us, statistics are something that we leave on the side. We try to focus on what’s on at the moment. We’re not where we want to be, so we have to work and get there.”

I said it many times. Mustafi on his day is one of the best defenders in the league and I’m not even kidding.— Olle Le Moine (@OlleLeMoine) February 21, 2019

The German also points out that everyone knows that there is still plenty of ways how to improve, especially in away games.

“I think we’ve done well and have done that in a few games better than others, but I think we’re still in a transition to become a team who are confident of playing the same way both home and away.

“I think we try our best to get to where we want to be: a team that is confident of playing, keeping possession, who likes to play forward, likes to score goals. It’s something that we try our best to improve.”

The 26-year-old also underlines the team’s main goal this season – get back into the Champions League. Not only do the players and fans want to participate in it, but it also helps to recruit better players, as well as have a bigger to work with.
