A commuter train of the Nairobi Commuter Rail

Kenyatta university will be among the new areas where Kenya Railways is planning to set up commuter rails.

In a controversial plan that involves buying 25-year old trains, the railway board said it looks into adding about 150km of rail all around Nairobi.

There have been several attempts in the city to decongest the roads but several of them failed terribly.

The railway lines will complement the Bus Rapid Transit that is awaiting implementation and whose buses have been procured.
