Ben Soul, the Masheesha hit maker who featured Heart the Band has been signed in by Sauti Sol in their project under Sol Generation. Ben Soul explains how he has qualified to be under Sauti Sol.
”We’ve been friends for a while so we were called in for a jam session with many artistes. so then later I got called and they said they want to sign me in. Bien is the one guy who reached out a lot and here we are. I have been doing music professionally for 5 years up until he called me.
I believe I want to send my message all the way to mashinani and they have the muscle to. a man is his message not what he does. so if my message gets to the intended reach then that is my happiness. and sol generation will help me do this.
Incase you didn’t know who Ben is, he explains; ”I have written telenovela by kidum, written for Mercy Masika, Nyashinski in one song, Ali Kiba, Ben Pol, Band Becca, Wendy Kimani, Dela, H_art the band and Gilad.
Bien explains why they took long to sign the first artist; ”we have been thinking about this for over 2 years. so many problems came along including finances and lack of strategy. we took time to review artistes to make sure they have some shelf life, not just a one hit wonder. We picked him because he is good at everything, he sings like an angel writes like an angel and he can play so many instruments.”
