Shocking unexplained reports indicate that a Malindi OCPD died mysteriously in Malindi.
According to reports, Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi died on Monday morning while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mombasa.
According to the area DCIO Anthony Sunguti, the OCPD fell ill on Sunday evening at his home before he was rushed to the hospital where he passed on hours later.
It is reported that he collapsed at his home and broke his collarbone.
It was not immediately clear what caused his death.
However, the DCIO said a postmortem would be conducted to establish what led to the OCPD’s death.
“The OCPD fell ill on Sunday evening at his home before he was rushed to the hospital where he passed on hours later,” Sunguti revealed.
“Police death is normal like everybody else’s,” Coast police boss Marcus Ochola said.
Reports indicate that he had suffered from a heart problem for some time.
“He had been a good officer. We condole with his family,” Ochola said.
Mr Mchangi, a senior superintendent of police (SSP), had served in Malindi, Kilifi County, for more than four years
