Kajiado County awarded Ksh 100 Million to construct new stadium after being stripped off Madaraka day hosting right

After Madaraka Day was moved from Kajiado County to Narok County, following concern the stadium will not be complete within three months,the state has promise the County Ksh 100 million seed money to construct stadium in Kajiado town.

Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku says after the completion of the new stadium, they will be given a new date to host a national Day.

However the state says,by moving the celebrations from Kajiado to Narok County, the Govt seeks to ensure that the benefits arising from the hosting of the national event are retained within the same economic block in line with the established trend of hosting some national events in the Counties.

Last year Madaraka celebrations was held at Kinoru stadium Meru County where more than 18,000 Kenyans attended the event which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
