The Shocking transfers Chelsea are set to make after appealing FIFA ban

There may be a transfer ban imposed on Chelsea this summer, but that will not stop the club being linked with all and sundry.

The Blues have appealed against FIFA’s ruling, which means they could yet make signings this summer because if the appeal is not heard until during or after the summer, the ban will be deferred.

They will probably have to sort out manager Maurizio Sarri’s future before they can head into the transfer market however, with the under-fire boss not certain of his status at the club.

And the managerial position is one that features on the list of rumours around Stamford Bridge right now.

Here we take a look at the ones doing the rounds.

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly still keen on taking over at Chelsea, despite FIFA’s transfer ban.

Chelsea are appealing the ban, and could yet be able to make signings in the summer before a final decision is made – and if that does happen, the club will be prepared to spend £200million in the summer according to The Sun.

Zidane left Real Madrid at the end of last season, having won three Champions League titles in a row. And he is apparently still happy to take over at Stamford Bridge as long as he gets the opportunity to spend big in the summer.

A win in the Carabao Cup final could save Sarri from the chop on Sunday, but it might nly be a stay of execution.

Should Chelsea convince Zidane to join, the French manager would reportedly make Mauro Icardi a top priority, and would try to add Isco, Alex Telles and Kalidou Koulibaly before any potential transfer ban, according to The Sun.

Icardi was the Blues’ fans drea signing in the January transfer window, and having beens tripped of the captaincy at Inter Milan, his future is up in the air.

Negotiations over a new contract at the San Siro have gone nowhere and there are many rumours suggesting he will leave the Italian side this summer.
