Local TV stations are also fighting to promote morals in the celebrity arena.

After all the hype about singer Akothee dressing indecently, a TV station (name withheld for security reasons) has been reported for turning away an artist for lewd dressing.

The singer, Mistony, however has rebuked the claims that her dress was gross.

Mistony has blasted a leading TV station after being turned away moments before she appeared on a show earlier in February.

In an interview with Daily Active, Mistony revealed that the security officers informed her that her dress was “too short” to be allowed on air.

She was then asked to tie a leso before going on air or leave the station.

Mistony, who had appeared on Hot 96FM earlier that day, decided to ditch the interview.

While describing her experience as awful, the London-based Afro-pop Kenyan musician explained that she didn’t see the problem with her dress.

“It felt extremely awful to be turned down by that TV station, yet other media houses received me well in that dress. I respect my body. So, I wouldn’t expose it with an ulterior motive.

“I was well dressed, and I think it is time we start embracing modern culture. Above all, I am an artist; and media houses know that better. I felt humiliated,” she narrated.

Below is the video when she was at Hot 96 the fateful day.
