At least four people have reportedly perished in a grisly accident on Saturday evening in Bungoma County.
The accident involving a head-on collision between a PSV matatu and a lorry occurred along Chwele road at Marakaru Trading Center.
Speaking to the media, Kimilili MP Didmus Wekesa Barasa, who visited the scene, confirmed that several people lost their lives in the unfortunate accident.
“Among those who have perished is a close friend of mine who is also a former MCA for Wandanyi,” the MP stated.
Initial reports indicate that four people perished on the spot with several others sustaining injuries.
Unconfirmed reports allege that among those who perished in the accident were high school students who were out for their mid-term break.
