Sonko kick starts plan to rejuvenate the Nairobi River

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has kick started the plan to rejuvenate the Nairobi River.

The Governor thanked Nairobians living along Nairobi River for the support so far given to various teams involved in the regeneration of Nairobi River.

Sonko said that his administration has engaged stakeholders and various beatification team to ensure it’s clean and environmentally safe.

Earlier today, Komb Green Team were on the ground cleaning Nairobi River along Korogocho.

Apart from that, the Governor is also working on declogging of canals in all 85 Wards to improve the flow of water and holding capacity of waterways and the drainage systems.

Sonko said that the declogging of canals is a measure to mitigate effects of the heavy rains.
