What would you do if you came face to face with a lion while heading home? Probably wet your pants right?

Well, that’s the fate that many Kenyans could be facing after the KWS issued a warning to the public that a number of wild animals have fled sanctuaries and national parks throughout the country.

The cause of their season is the oncoming dry season which shifts the migratory patterns of wild animals.

In a statement to the press, here’s what the KWS spokesperson had to say about the situation:

β€œThe ongoing dry spell being experienced in most parts of the country is displacing wildlife from their traditional habitats in search of pasture and water. This has increased conflict as the wildlife comes into contact with the public and human activities,”

According to the KWS, the areas that will experience an influx of wild animals will be the Mt. Kenya region, Lamu, Marsabit, Mau, Meru, Kajiado, Laikipia Taita Taveta, and Narok.

Nevertheless, the KWS has informed the public that it has enhanced surveillance n different parts of the country to cope with this influx.
