Mike Sonko donates funds to the Kenya Girl Guides Association

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko today offered his support to the Kenya Girl Guides Association by donating funds to aid the welfare of Girl Guides who are camping at the Arboretum Grounds in Nairobi.

This comes during the World Thinking Day 2019 which was also celebrated together with the leadership award ceremony of the Kenya Girl Guide Association at State House.

Nairobi City County First Lady Primrose Mbuvi, joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady of the Republic, Margaret Kenyatta at State House among other leaders during this event.

The Nairobi Governor appreciated Kenya Girl Guides Association for the role it’s playing in shaping the future of our young girls who are the leaders of tomorrow.

As Patron of the Association, The first Lady also awarded outstanding Girl Guides, Leaders, Champions and Heroes who have displayed exemplary leadership in their spheres of influence.

She also stated that Kenya is indeed indebted to the leadership of the Kenya Girl Guides.

Margaret Kenyatta thanked the staff and all partners for their tireless and dedicated passion to ensure that the amazing work of the movement continues to reach and empower millions of girls, adolescents and women across the county.

She also applauded them for standing firm and holding on to the virtues that the movement has come to be associated with-dignity, integrity, service, leadership and patriotism

The First Lady also exuded confidence that the Strategic Plan will set out a robust program of expansion across the country so that many more young women can experience the powerful influence of the Girl Guide  Movement.

As Patron, she also pledged her continued support for their ever relevant and noble mission.
