If You Thought ‘Tanga Tanga’ Team Was Dead, You Were Wrong

Deputy President William Samoe Ruto lead a section of Jubilee MPs on Friday to welcome Mohamed Ahmed Kolosh after he defected to Jubilee Party from ODM.

The former lawmaker was also unveiled as the Jubilee flag bearer for the April 25, Wajir West by-election in a press conference held by Ruto at the party’s headquarters.

During the media briefing, the country’s second in command also presented Jubilee’s nomination certificate to Kolosh.

Ruto was accompanied by Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale among other party officials.

The DP stated that the ruling party will be contesting the Wajir West constituency by-election on a platform of issues, ideas, sound policy and service delivery aligned to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda.

Kolosh jumped ship after the Supreme Court nullified his election in January, which he had secured using ODM party.

The top court discovered irregularities at Qara polling station and claimed the results were manipulated in Kolosh’s favour.

Addressing journalists after the ruling, Kolosh warned his rivals to prepare for a bruising battle and vowed to retain the seat.

“I am ready to go back to the people. When I come back, I will ensure necessary legislation are put in place to limit the authority of the Supreme Court.

“To Wajir people, please remain united. Do not be divided into two camps. I dare my opponents to contest in the by-election,” he stated.
