Members of Parliament skin alive their counterpart for dressing ‘irresponsibly’ while in the parliament precinct.

This was a prevalent occurrence during the era of Mike Sonko who could clad in expensive jewelry and stylish designers to the honourable house.

A section of MPs were jittery when they spotted Hon. Otiende Omollo, Rarieda MP dressed in a non-collared shirt in Parliament.

“Being smart does not mean properly dressed, If we are coming here as honourable members, let us do so,” Mbadi said.

When a member is sent out of the house for improper dressing, he forfeits all the privileges.

Majority Leader, Aden Duale argued that MPs must protect the integrity of the house.

“We borrow from the House of Commons. We must observe the rule.”

Nambale lawmaker, John Bunyasi observed that Hon. Olago must appreciate that as long as a member is smart, they should be let be.

Otiende defended himself on grounds that the new constitution has granted freedom of dressing.

Speaker Justin Muturi said he’d deliver a ruling after a study of the Hansard to determine what had been decided before.

Is the dressing code debate in Parliament still viable?
