President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed to fight the war against graft and with the help of Raila Odinga he might as well win it.
However there is misconception that President Kenyatta might be targeting his Deputy.
The AU envoy has now come out to defend Ruto saying that the war against graft is not meant to target the second in command.
While speaking during an Interview with his former Personal Assistant Tony Gachoka he said, “President Uhuru Kenyatta and I are committed to fighting the vice of corruption. Let every corrupt person carry his or her own cross. It can be my mother, child or sister. We should not personalise or regionalise the fight against corruption.”
Raila’s statement comes when the Weston Hotel saga is at the centre of attention following DP Ruto’s interview with BBC where he admitted that the land where the hotel is build on ws in deed acquired illegally.
However DP Ruto clarified the matter saying that the owner of the land was the one who had legal issues and not him.
This brought uproar among several leaders with some demanding for his resignation and other recommending that Weston should indeed be demolished.
