After enjoying praises from Kenyans as a result of being the only African city leader to address the UN conference in New York and giving a speech that was lauded by many it seems law issues back at home are bound to give Governor Mike Sonko doom.
The dispute between city tycoon Mike Kamau and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko over the demolition of residential houses in Kayole estate landed him a defamation suit.
Lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui asked the court for more time to respond to the suit saying the governor was away on official duties and had not signed the replying affidavits
Over the matter, given the Governor 14 days to respond to the allegations leveled against him in the defamation.
The businessman has accused the governor of interfering with his repossession of the 20-acre plot in Nairobi’s Kayole Estate despite a valid eviction order.
Kamau through his company Muthithi Investments Ltd, also accuses Governor Sonko of releasing a recording of their phone conversation in which he insulted him thereby initiating social media attacks which damaged his reputation and image.
Do you think Sonko will heed to the court order
