Of late in Kenya, we have been seeing cases of marriage and relationship problems which lead to extreme consequences such as suicide or murder of those involved.
In this case a middle aged man committed suicide in Kayole Estate in Naivasha after finding that his girlfriend whom he planned to marry had an affair with his friend.
The jilted lover jumped on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway and was run over by a lorry transporting construction materials to Nakuru town.
According to an eye witness Sam Kimani, residents who witnessed the incident at first thought it was a case of hit and run but on checking the body they found a suicide note detailing the reasons for his actions.
Kimani said Kayole section of the highway was prone to cases of pedestrians being hit by speeding motorists noting that in the recent case the deceased had fallen out with his lover.
“The note explained how he met his girlfriend who he had planned to settle down with having ‘fun’ with his close friend and decided to commit suicide with a warning that the two should not attend his burial,” he said.
