Prince William Steps In For Harassed Wife Kate

Prince William angrily stepped in as photographers ‘harassed’ Kate Middleton on her birthday, a documentary revealed.

The second in line to the throne was incensed when a group of paparazzi gathered outside his sweetheart’s flat in Chelsea, West London.

A clip said that the prince was far from happy after photographers thrust cameras in her face and blocked her route to her car.

The incident, recounted in documentary Chasing The Royals, happened on Kate’s 25th birthday back in January 2007, before the couple got engaged.

As rumours circulated that William was on the verge of proposing, interest in the young couple was high.

The programme’s narrator said: “An angry Prince William issued a statement to the press, to stop harassing his girlfriend.

“Both he and Kate eventually moved to a remote corner of Wales.”

In a statement to the press, William said: “Prince William is very unhappy at the paparazzi harassment of his girlfriend.

He wants, more than anything, for it to stop.

“Miss Middleton should, like any other private individual, be able to go about her everyday business without this kind of intrusion.

“The situation is proving unbearable for all those concerned.”
