Tanzania is yet to experience increased HIV infections, unwanted pregnancies, Sexually Transmitted diseases among other sexual related diseases following a condom crisis that hit the vast country.
The contention was revealed by Tanzania’s deputy Ministry for Health Dr Fautine Ndugulile on Tuesday during her visit at an orphanage in Kulasini. In her statements, the minister said the most affected areas are Njombe and Shinyanga.
The shortages are attributed to the recent government changes in the supply chain of condoms where Private suppliers used to do the job, now it’s the government taking on the supply of condoms to people across the country at a free cost.
“It is true there is shortage of condoms, which is attributed to the change of the supply system…..However, this signifies that the Tanzanian population are educated enough to use condoms”she noted with concern.
