She has since arrived back in the UK on a private jet after the five-day trip to New York with some of her closest friends.The pregnant duchess enjoyed some quality time with pals, including a luxurious baby shower, ahead of the arrival of her first child in April.

Meghan stayed in a penthouse suite at the five-star Mark Hotel, which costs about $75,000 a night, and visited some of her favourite places in the city.

Amal Clooney, Serena Williams and Abigail Spencer were among the celebrity pals who attended her baby shower yesterday.

Just an hour after she was photographed leaving the lavish hotel she was spotted boarding a Gulfstream G450 plane ready to fly back home, reports.

She was casually dressed in a black jumpsuit, baseball cap and tan coat.The eye-watering cost of the trip has raised some eyebrows but Kensington Palace has stressed it was completely privately funded.

Even though the baby shower was a private event, a few of her pals have given little insights into the celebrations.

Meghan’s friend and make-up artist  Daniel Martin shared a photo of one of the adorable biscuits the guests tucked into to the delight of fans. Celebrated tennis player one of the invited fiends showed off the suite in a series of selfies taken in the massive bathroom.

She captioned the pictures: “Even on relaxing day I often need to remind myself I am beautiful and strong. I seriously am grateful for these pants. I needed them today.”

Other celebrities who attended Meghan’s celebrations include Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, harpist Erin Hill and television presenter Gayle King.

Fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who is believed to have set Meghan and Harry up, was also there.Activities during the week included visiting the Met Breuer museum of modern and contemporary art and dinner at Ralph Lauren’s restaurant the Polo Bar, according to media reports.

Meghan will resume royal duties on Saturday when she joins husband Harry on a three day tour of Morocco.
