Here are two ways the govt can recover HELB without arresting anyone

I don’t understand what Amina Mohammed was thinking when she announced that the government will start arresting HELB loan defaulters.

I mean how can you arrest someone who is jobless? How much money will you use to track them down? It seems Amina has run short of ideas.

Here are some two creative ways to recover the loans:

Offer more loans

We have seen the government of Kenya take Chinese loans to pay other loans. The same should apply to HELB loan defaulters. Most graduates are unemployed, what if they get money to start a business.

😂 😂 😂 HELB to partner with CID and Police 🚨. This is crazy. What if China hunts Kenya 👇 down. Take us slow Helb. Mambo ni slow motion ata tala na branch wanatupeleka pole pole— Rafiki_ke 🇰🇪 (@fidel_Ke) February 20, 2019

That way, they will get employment, pay loans and pay taxes. It is a win win situation for the government.

Let Graduates work during census

We are going to hold a critical function later this year. The 2019 census. I am told the budget for Human Resource is around sh.15 billion. Now why can’t the government ask loan defaulters to work during this period.

They can deduct the 7 billion and allow them to share the remaining sh 8 billion. That is still a win win situation.

All unemployed Youths with HELB Loan to repay should come together and Sue the Government for failing to help them access Employment as directed under Article 55 C of Constitutional Bill of Rights.

But this cannot happen in Kenya because people are not thinkers. In fact cartels will steal more than sh 14 billion of the money meant for the census. So that is just but a dream.
