Speculation surrounding the future of gifted 23-year-old Rabiot has been rampant for some time now.

The Frenchman has refused to commit to a contract extension with boyhood club PSG, with his current deal at the Parc des Princes set to expire in the summer.Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in a whole host of European heavyweights expressing an interest in Rabiot’s services.

However, despite the gifted midfielder having been free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club since the beginning of last month, and been banished to the Parc des Princes stands since the middle of December, Rabiot’s future, at present, remains very much up in the air.

Of the clubs to have been touted as potential destinations for Rabiot, the most-persistently linked have been Spanish champions Barcelona.

The Blaugrana were even rumoured to have clinched an agreement with the Frenchman last month, though official confirmation of any such deal was, in the end, not forthcoming.

And, as per the aforementioned report from Sport this afternoon, negotiations over a potential move to the Camp Nou have seen Rabiot himself become so frustrated that he has opted to replace his mother-agent with a new representative.

Veronique Rabiot is said to have ‘promised various times that she would visit Barça’s offers to finalise the details, but that never happened.’

The PSG midfielder, for his part, though, has his heart firmly set on joining the La Liga giants.

As such, with Barcelona reported to have taken their contract offer to Rabiot off the table, the Frenchman’s move to secure new representation comes with the goal of ‘finding him a new club as soon as possible’ in mind:
