Uhuru’s Referendum stand, Sonko in New York, EACC raids Samburu Governor and Wednesday’s Talking Points

Good evening,

President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally declared that he will root for the referendum. Uhuru said that this is the only way that will guarantee inclusivity in government.

“We have to look into the structure of our government so that we can ensure no Kenyan feels left out,” he told the public in Kisii

“We all have good plans for our country, but we must have inclusivity because that is what will take us to the next level of development.”

President @UKenyatta also affirmed that he will continue to work with Hon. @RailaOdinga to ensure the Building Bridges Initiative bears fruits. The President stated that the initiative targets inclusivity of all Kenyans and improved service delivery in all parts of the country. pic.twitter.com/t0a98z8g5c— State House Kenya (@StateHouseKenya) February 20, 2019

Uhuru has been under a lot of pressure from DP Ruto’s supporters to declare his stand on the topic.

Here are the other stories that have made Headlines on Wednesday:

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko wows Kenyans with his Speech at New York Conference

A lot has been said about Mike Sonko. Some think he is incompetent and should not be allowed anywhere near city hall. But it seems the international community doesn’t read from the same script.

Sonko was selected to lead a delegation of African cities to the UN General Assembly Conference in New York. He was the only African leader who spoke at the conference.

And the governor did not disappoint! His English was on point. Remember how he spoke at the Blue Economy Conference? The ‘Kenyarra’ and the ‘cirry.’ Well, the script was the same.

It has been long since we saw a high profile arrest. But it seems we won’t wait for long if EACC’s raid on Samburu governor Moses Kasaine’s home is anything to go by.

Detectives arrived at his Karen Home in a Matatu and armed with court orders. The raid which, witnesses have described as similar to a scene from a movie, was co-ordinated with others at his Maralal Home.

Moses Kuria looked to put his stormy 2019 to the background as he celebrated his 48th birthday at the lucrative Nairobi Hotel Kiza Lounge.

And who better to celebrate the birthday with than the former Nairobi women rep and current Cabinet Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service Rachel Shebesh.

You may love her or hate her but Akothee doesn’t really care. She thrives on controversy. She loves attention and she will do anything to get it.

For the past few days, she has been trending over what Kenyans termed inappropriate behavior by a celebrity. Akothee said no one pays her to be a role model and opening her legs.

On Wednesday however, Akothee celebrated the day she opened her legs for the right reasons. This is the day she gave birth to her daughter Rue Baby.

And she took to social media to celebrate her first born child as a go getter and no nonsense baby.

“On this day a leg was wide open for another good reason??my baby turns a year younger , my queen my copy right , my headache and my everything.” She said on her Facebook Page.
