This is why Museveni might rule for sixth consecutive terms

Uganda President Yoweri Museveni might continue exercising his rule over the country for his sixth consecutive term if he wins the 2021 elections.

This is because the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Uganda has endorsed the 74 year old president to run for his sixth term as the President of Uganda.

NRM settled for Museveni as its candidate for the 2021 after the Constitutional court in Uganda removed the presidential age limit which was place at 75. However , the Supreme Court is currently hearing the petition challenging the Constitutional courts decision.

Museveni had in 2016 indicated that this would not be the right time for him to exit from the seat as he still had things to do.

Lately he has faced opposition from youthful opposition leaders . Singer  Rober Kyangulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine is the latest victim of resisting Museveni’s rule. the Kyalenga hit maker was arrested tortured and charged with treason.
