The UN chooses Sonko to represent Africa in New York

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko will be the only African city leader who will be addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York which is set to global challenges from a local perspective.

The 73rd session of the General Assembly aims to give a voice to cities from around the world through sharing of successful expirience towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Governor Sonko is the only African leader who will address the conference which will be focusing on the role of cities in the global agenda.

The new duty came barely a week after the governor was officially appointed the Good Deeds Ambassador by an Israel-based organisation for his generosity in helping the needy.
