“Referendum wants to create a job for Raila,” DP Ruto ally unearth details

The debate about referendum over the weekend has placed Hon Raila Odinga on the receiving end for quite some time.

This debate has drawn clearly line and i can assure you it is creating a new rift in politics.

Nyeri Town member of Parliament Ngunjiri has rubbished claims that referendum calls are meant to end the political career of Deputy President William Ruto.

This legislator issued the statement in response to Mr.Ruto and some of his allies who have read malice in the contemplated constitutional changes in the country.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is among those who argue that the sole agenda of the objective was to frustrate the deputy president’s future ambitions.

Posting on his Facebook page, the legislator has called on politicians to stop making the referendum issue a means to selfish gains.

He has said that the plebiscite is neither meant to stop Mr.Ruto from being president, create a job for Raila nor force Uhuru out of power through retirement.

The member of parliament has rather noted that there were gaps in governance structure, especially the issue of inclusivity. He asked the leaders to stop personalizing the referendum debate.

“The coming referendum is not about creating a retirement position for Uhuru Kenyatta, creating a job for Raila Odinga, or stopping William Ruto from being (an all-powerful) President,” observed Mr.Ngunjiri.

He added that; “the coming referendum is about creating a governance structure that’s all inclusive to stop elections from being a do-or-die event. It’s also about ensuring that the minority have their say but the majority have their way.”
