The exercise for HudumaNamba registration is being launched on Monday by interior PS interior Dr. Karanja Kibicho at the ACK Nyandarua Faith Academy at 9am in Nyandarua County, Manyatta Sub Location. Other PSs will simultaneously launch the programs in another 14 counties.
All Kenyans and foreigners aged six years and above are expected to be registered digitally and assigned unique numbers containing their personal data. This will help you get all government services like acquiring a passport or any other service. The government purports that this is a way to “eradicate forgeries of national identification documents and crime”.
It will establish central master population register, that will be the authentic ‘single source of truth’ on a person’s identity. Foreigners will be required to provide their passport or Alien ID cards.
Huduma Namba is a programme which was initiated through Executive Order No. 1 of 2018 to create and manage a Central Master Population Register which will be the authentic ‘source of truth’ of identity of all persons residing in Kenya. It was developed for purposes of a national biometric population database of all persons in Kenya to assign a personal unique identification to facilitate access to government services.
The government is undertaking the biometric registration process to guard against impersonation and fraud, authenticate personal data and to enhance access to government services.
According to the Immigration Department, to register for the Huduma Namba, you need either of the following identification documents; an ID, Birth Certificate or Driving License and be present at the registration centers for biometrics. The compulsory process will run for 30 days and one can register from chief’s camps across the country.

All Kenyan citizens and foreign nationals in Kenya must be registered. as directed by president. There will be physical and actual capture of biometric including finger prints and facial features- NOTE; children below 6 years will not have their biometrics captured.
