The County Government of Mombasa has today officially launched the e-Parking System where motorists simply have to dial *282# to register and pay for their parking fees via their mobile phones from the comfort of their homes, offices, cars, etc
The system was officially launched by the Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi on behalf of Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
The officials noted that we live in an era where it is literally impossible to achieve much without innovation, creativity and partnerships.
They also added that through partnerships and various business innovative programs, they have improved our services to create a more conducive environment for businesses to operate.
Kingi stated that E parking is a concept that will allow users to address their enquiries through web based and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) platforms in both English and Swahili. The platform embraces the spirit of devolution by enhancing service delivery.
“The e-parking system will not only make it easy for car owners to pay but will also ensure the integrity of the payment system. It will no longer depend on the faithfulness of the parking attendant to ensure safe transmission of payments to the County Government.” he said
He also urged motorists in Mombasa to accept the system & embrace the whole concept of digitization of services.
“The recent improvements in service delivery in Mombasa rely on the acceptance and cooperation of the users. We look forward to the feedback from users to improve the system.” he added
