2 gangsters arrested in Kirinyaga for stealing Ksh. 26K

Two suspected gangsters were on Sunday arrested after breaking into a bar at Karia trading center in Kirinyaga County and stealing of money that amount Ksh.26, 000.

The suspected criminals believed to be armed defied a police order to surrender forcing the officers to shoot one of them on the leg.

According to Ms. Kithei, one of the suspects is being held at Kerugoya Police Station while the other who sustained a gunshot injury is receiving treatment at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital under police watch.

Kirinyaga Police Commander Leah Kithei confirmed the incident saying that officers who conducted the arrests were acting on a tip-off from members of the public, led by the bar owner Joyce Wamaitha Kiminju.
