Tusker FC assistant coach Charles Okere has lambasted the assistant referee that officiated their Kenyan Premier League clash staged at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday 16 February.

According to Okerea, the assistant referee gave an offside goal this after striker Allan Wanga notched what proved to the winner in the first half of the tie.

“The referee especially the assistant referee was biased. He allowed the opponent to score in an offside position and it was not good because throughout the week we have prepared the team and then for the referees to allow an opponent to score in an offside position is not good,” Okere said.

The tactician who hailed his charges for sticking to plan however blamed his strikers and midfielder for not taking the chances they created.

“Overall they played according to plan. Created a lot of goal scoring opportunities but our strikers and midfielders were not sharp enough to score goals. For the short term, we will work more on our finishing. For you to win games you have to score goals and we should work too on the defence. The last three matches we drew and we won so today we expected a win but we were unlucky,” the coach added.

Tusker will hope they can dust themselves as quickly as possible as Gor Mahia awaits in their next league fixture.
