Joho off the hook as DCI comes to his rescue

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed as fake a document that linked Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to a drug cartel.

The letter that purportedly bears an Interpol Letterhead was found to be fabricated and malicious.

Sue the perpetrators

DCI has also advised Governor Joho to sue those behind the circulation of the said fake letter for redress.

“Since we may not go far in investigating the origin of the forged letter in the social media, please take civil remedies for those spreading the malicious rumours,” partly reads the letter.

The DCI letter delinking Joho to the purported investigations as signed by John Kariuki, is dated Wednesday, February 13, 2019, and also copied to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji.

Jubilee leaders

Joho has been on the receiving end of a barrage of accusations from Jubilee-allied MPs who linked him to drugs trade.

At one point, the governor said he would not spend his time responding to their claims. Rather, he would seek their ‘patron’ to come clear.
