Eight suspects have now clocked a week at the Gigiri Police Station cells following the disappearance of the Bishop’s car spare tyre.

Among the eight includes the Bishop’s driver.

Reports from close associates of Bishop Wanjiru states that the spare tyre got stolen last week on Friday while her new Landcruiser Prado was parked outside the compound in her Runda home.

For that reason, the Bishop ordered the arrest of everyone who was at the compound at the moment including her driver, people who were doing construction at the sight and the neighbours, totalling to 10 people.

However, two of the suspects were later released.

The review of the CCTV did not show anyone stealing the spares- meaning the spares were stolen somewhere else.

Upon realizing that there is no evidence to use against the eight who have not been arraigned in court as the law mandates, Wanjiru now wants the eight to give her a total of sh 65,000 for the wheels to be released.

According to the constitution, one should be arraigned in court within 24 hours after arrest, a right that the eight have been denied. They have now spent over a week, which seemingly could have been caused by the Bishop manipulating the police.

Among those arrested include Abedi Mungai (bishop’s Personal driver) Reymond Sewe (casual labourer- construction), Richard Wamamba (general labour), Stephen Kioko (gardener), Martin Muli (gardener), Evan Andama (neighbour’s Gardener) and Edmond Sawe (Security Guard).
