Manchester United ex-striker faces court action for using phone.

David Beckham s a man under siege after an onlooker allegedly saw him using his phone while driving.

The witness is said to have called the police on Beckham right after the incident.

Sh25.8 Million Bentley

At the time, Beckham was driving his Sh 25.8 Million Bentley in South London.

The charge comes fewer than eight weeks after a speeding case against him was quashed on a technicality.

Evidence obtained

Close sources say the CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained and the police are studying it to verify the claims.

Beckham has the option of admitting the alleged offence by letter or contesting the charge at a public hearing.

Legal implications

If convicted of the offense, Beckham will have to part with Sh258, 000 and also be booked with 6 points on his licence.

But for the father of four whose net-worth is Sh38.7 billion, that is probably pocket change.

Celebrity lawyer

However, the odds are high King David will put up a strong defence with a celebrity lawyer.

Top of the list is “Mr Loophole” officially known as Nick Freeman, who has represented Beckham twice, winning the cases on technicalities.

Mr Loophole charges a rate of Sh1 million per day!

Wins cases

Other notable celebrities he has represented over car-related offenses are Sir Alex Ferguson, Jeremy Clarkson and Ronnie O’Sullivan who got himself into trouble after failing to provide a urine sample when suspected of drink-driving in east London.

He was, however, cleared of any crime after Mr Freeman, who lives in a Cheshire mansion, argued the snooker superstar’s depression had prevented him from peeing on demand!
