Witnesses shares their encounter with Londiani plane crash

The untimely demise of passengers aboard Cesna 206-5-Y BSE  adds to a number of fatal accidents in Londiani.

The National Police Airwing Commander Rodgers Mbithi on Wednesday confirmed that all the five occupants of the Cesna 206-5-Y BSE had perished.

The five passengers were three men and two women, four of whom are whites.

The Londiani Nakuru highway has been in the limelight for sometimes due to grisly road accidents.  Last year, 56 passengers aboard Homeboys bus belonging to Western Cross Company, died after the bus veered off the road and rolled down the slope.

 

The first witness said that he saw the chopper waving in a zigzag way in the air before crumbling down.

“Ilikuwa ni mwendo wa saa tano kasorobo, niligundua sauti inayotoke kwa hii ndegesio sauti ya kawaida.Baada ya dakika kumi hivi, ndege ikaanza kuyumba yumba ikielekezwa kwa hii shamba hapa tumesimama . Pilot alijaribu kutoa miguu ndo aruke, lakini ndege ikaanguka na kumaliza abiria wote,” David Githogori said.

Josephat Cheruiyot a resident of Londiani said that he was the first to appear on the scene. He added that the plan was flying low when he was farming. He tried to gather the neighbors to help the victims but they all died.
